Brazil CPI

Brazil’s inflation is trending up after reaching its minimum in August. The trend is explained by a consistent monthly increase in prices
and the low comparison base of last year. Growth keeps moderating to rates more consistent with the economy's capacity, thus easing concerns of overheating. Thus, in September, annual inflation went up to 4.7%, from 4.49% in August.

In Brazil, annual inflation is trending upward, reaching 4.7% in September but still within the central bank’s target rate of 4% to 6%. Moreover, the Selic, Brazil’s reference rate, remains at 10.75%, above the neutral level of 9.5%. With plenty of room between inflation and the upper limit of the target, Brazil’s central bank will prioritize growth, keeping the Selic at its current level through year's end.
